Please excuse my ignorance on this but my question is, if my boys are out on their Jetskis and I communicate with them from the beach on a handheld, do I have to have a license ?

Hi Plugger no license for 29mhz radios but they trying to do away with them and institute the VHF SRC.

For that you need the license. Ive just done the course. Its not to bad.

From what I've heard everyone in the near future will be required to have the VHF SRC for the annual COF.
