Smilin Thru Resort

Hi Guys,

Going to stay over for the first time at Smilin Thru
Need all the advice and tips i can get please for carp and muddies
Did a search but all of them are from 2012.
Also would it be worth my time to target some barbel.
Any sort of help would really be appreciated

The last time I went to Smilin Thru was in 1984, the Yellows were everywhere. I would just cover all bases:

Carp
Rietvlei Rig
Bom
Floatties
Dips, bun spice, cfx, banana, onion, garlic etc.
Bol sprays along the same lines

Muddies
White Dough, try different combo's of flavour.
Worm

Barbel
Snails
Platties

Just a report from smilin thru.

Arrived on saturday and starting fishing at about 5pm.
BLANKED for the whole trip, not even a bite.
Tried everything from mielies to dough and used most if the dips a had.

Very nice place to stay but i think the cold front played a big role for the fishing

There were people to our left, but never saw anything come out

It was very cold, I hear from most guys that they blanked over the weekend, I was not even prepared to risk it. The wind was the worst for me.
