That rod is the now the chokka slayer, not tiger tamer haha..Its missing the ink with the season closed, my stockpile is all but eaten, just 3 little choklits saved for bait..
It is a great little rod to say it again.. I love it, I use it as my very light spinning rod off the boat too and use it throw a spoon for leeries when I don't have my long rod on board and its caught up to 4kg fish with no problems. A bit more backbone than a bass rod but a nice forgiving tip. I fish it with 20lb line, seems about right. The power plus is a bit thicker with more backbone and will pull a small 3-5kg cape yellowtail nicely, fishing off the boat I reckon..just for comparison. My mate raves about them for the cape. One of my best fishing experiences have been on the boat with shoals of large 500g to 2kg mackerel, and a homemade sabiki with 60lb line and 3 hooks and a small spoon clipped as the sinker, and that tiger tamer..Every drop would result in a full string of these little torpedos, 4 on a drop, and they swim together as one fish when hooked together so its like having a small tuna hooked on a bass rod, the speed of those things is unbelievable. They tested that rod and reel to its max and it was such a blast, I can't tell you how much fun that was with those big mackies 4 on a line. ZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz! ZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz! Anyway back to topic..
Never caught a tigerfish, still on the bucketlist, so take my opinion with a pinch of salt, just trying to give you an idea on the rods.. The tigertamer would be perfect for yellowfish I reckon, and then depends on what size tigers you are getting.
