seapoint fishing

Good day,

I am flying into cape town for two days and might have a couple of hours to wet a line. Does anyone know any goo spots close to Radisson blue Sea point. I am a freshwater chap but I do own a few poppers. Is it worth the while carrying my tackle.

Your best bet is to try Saunders Rock, Bantry Bay for Hottentot.  Amazingly that's the only location and species that can be caught this time of year from the rocks.

Not sure your spoons will be any good as Sardine works for Hottentot.  And it's not a very exciting fish - tastes like kelp and is wet and pulpy in texture.  Some like it, but I give it a skip.

Better bet would be to try and get on a boat going out in table bay, you can spin for tail...there's an angler on Sealine who does it often, check the saltwater section.
