There are no double standards on Sealine.

Members have rules to adhere to, if you don't like them, then move on.
No-one is forcing you to stay.

Every person that contravenes the rules will be warned by Admin.
Members who continually break the rules will be banned.
The member in question was warned many times for various things, including:

  • continued blatant swearing (how many times do we have to say this - this is a FAMILY site)! [/*]
  • continued infringements of the advertizing rules on Sealine, despite several warnings [/*]
  • continued belittling of other members [/*]
  • continued digs at Admin, as if he was "above" the law. [/*]
  • stealing research directly off Sealine, removing the authors name and posting it without acknowledgement.
The said member might be a great angler, perhaps even one of the best; but unfortunately he is not above the law - he is not bigger than the sport of angling. He has pushed the rules to the absolute limit. We have to draw the line somewhere.

Dictatorship? Believe what you want. We run this site for the love of the sport of angling, for free and at great cost to our personal lives and finances. We do not run the site to make enemies, rather to try improve the fishing experience and lives of Anglers in general.

Please don't forget that Sealine is supposed to be fun, it's entertainment and education. Let's not lose sight of the bigger picture.

Thanks for your understanding.

Admin.

Sealine is growing in members and common sense is not always enough when there is the risk of so many different opinions or personalities.

I personally believe in rules and someone/something to enforce them, meaning the Admin task is a must have. His judgement seems to suit the objectives: a fun and helpfull angling forum.

The thing is, a well respected member like Daisy souldn't even have to start a thread like this, even feel like that. His words above affect us - IF YOU THINK RIGHT - and it's a sign that something isn't working in here.

los die vis whats done is done boet, we can't change that and as for double standards well welcome to south africa

So if you cant beat them join them? Thanks for the heads up.

los die vis whats done is done boet, since when is discussion not allowed on a forum?

Why is there always someone that feels a discussion is an attack? Is it a "if the shoe fits" feeling that promotes this?
thens hows about we discuss something new 1 of the things that i find irritating on all the forums is the repetitive way things get handled ,how is this topic relevant now, if you wanted to get into a debate as to why henning got banned now that would be new
Just check the post by Admin, he clearly explained why Henning was banned. See, thats the Great thing about a forum, you ask a question, you get a answer.

I have read Admins reply, and if the given  facts are correct why would I bother discussing the matter further.
