Just an update on fuel consumption with the new motors.

From Fynnlands ski boat club to Umgeni for some snoek, to Umhlanga river for some garrick and then to Tongaat river for some Garrick and back to club..... 2 1/2 tanks in total.

Comfortable cruising at 4300rpm at 20 knots on flat seas.

Hi Rip I am running 2 x 115 4 stroke mercury's. I love the extra power. I think you made the right choice with the bigger motor's. The cosi also love the extra weight on the back.

Hi Gents,

Ok had the motors for almost 2 yrs. Updated feedback on fuel consumption.

From bluff yacht club, bait spots off umhlanga and then off to the deep yonder at +- 4500rpm and back I get about 150km on 2 tanks per motor. That works out to about 300ml per km per motor or R3.60 at current fuel price of R12/L

So when you factor in the R250k you spent on new motors, what have you saved on fuel? ;)

But jokes aside (because your not saving) it is nice to have the range you get from 4-strokes and no oil smells.

Exactly the same numbers as with Yamaha F70's.
But you have 40 extra ponies at your disposal ;)
