Went fishing under the bridge at sandspit at 6-30 found parking golf course side near the bridge the cabs fairly safe there. Checked out the river one bloke throwing a cast net for mullet (he catches rock salmon on small live mullet hook them through the eyes recons thy live longer, went under the bridge to the sea side about 15 rods chatted to a Durban fisherman him and his 5 mates had slept the nite and only started fishing at first lite , he had a fish onnn and a hole full of stone bream and a torpedo of a shad (2-5kg). All caught on sand prawn (crakker) . He asked me if I wanted to share his crakkers ( I love spooning)I rigged up a.a bronzy trace of a small hook about 12 inches above my barrel sinker, he asked me why only one hook as he was useing 2. Told him I didn't want to waste his bait, first cast just behind the shorebreak a few min and I'm onnn to a stony of 2kg , I caught another 3 all between 1-2kg .I must have seen 60 stoneys when the parks board arrived to check :e had 12 plus the shad( only allowed 5 stoneys per rod ) I had already given him my fish as he had let me use his bait , I stood for 5 and a friend of his stood for 5 so he went back to durban with his mates and a boot load of fish wow great fishing today
