Good morning All.
The Western province competitive League angling season opens soon, kindly get your reels to me sooner than later as it gets busy then again. Tuna season is also upon us so tuna reels will also be coming in for this. The social anglers now also need to get their reels serviced for the summer cob season please guys do not wait until the last as guys annually do. Here is a Saltiga 50 one of Daiwas best reels made in my view. I serviced this one for Mick Santovito hope i got that right.
She had some spots showing signs of corrosion inside the frame from salt residue this was ultrasonic cleaned, the reel as ALL reels totally stripped serviced with my JJ TLC and the bottom handle bearing was replaced as this was worn and showing some rust as well.
The brown thin film you see is a special anti corrosion treatment i am using to prevent pitting and corrosion on alloy reels. Mick uses this reel for shark fishing, Its absolute class from the Daiwa stable.
Look at the build the quality of product used by the Daiwa engineers throughout manufacture. Check the slow gearing machined from aluminium bronze ,note the wide heavy duty gear teeth both main gear and pinion, two nice fat chaps built for doing business.
All in all a top class reel no question. It pays to buy top quality but also note to ensure your expensive reels remained protected service them on time please this is MOST important as the sea is ALWAYS destructive to anything metal remember this. Enjoy the post.
