Hi all

I read an artical in the oewer hengelaar about SA powder and they clearly stated that there was a view recipies to this powder, well the one they gave in the mag sounds like a great recipie but now im curious, id be glad if someone could share some of thse recipies with us.

Here is the recipie for the one in the mag for those that dont know it.

500gram moris vla poeier

40 gram groen fluoricein poeier

100gram versier suiker

1pkt moirs karamel poeding

I have had great success so far, but I only use it when its windy or when all else fails...  :)

I have had more success just goingg completely plain, than shocking the fish out of the water, hehehe! But I will try again.

Half green fluoro will cost you an 3 arms and 5 legs.

I use only use "A grade" fluoro which sells at about R35 for 50g / ml

I have had a lot of success when the wind blows as well.

I have also experienced it chasing the fish away when used in excess. I think it is more the sweet smeel than the color which scares them off.

I also have a mix of :

500g Nesquick Strawberry
2 x Strawberry Instant pudding
1 x 50g A grade green fluoro

I prefer the custard / caramel combo though.

That is why I used the word "half". Then you don't need to make a whole container full of it. 50% Custard powder, 50% Green fluoro.

Aspecially if you haven't fished it previously, or do not have a lot of confidence in it.

I don't fish it very often, but sometimes you just get the urge to throw it. I use it mainly when I apply strong concentrates to my feed.

Aspecially when your nabour is watching and/ or smelling! Ha ha! Then you only see a white GT stripe as you cast...

It is a very good "schocker". If the tempo drops a bit SA Powder will help to up the tempo again. Don't ask my why, it just works.

We fished Freestate champs 2 weeks ago, for a while i was really hammering the fish, but then the tempo dropped. After i dipped the bomb i put the whole thing in SA powder. That upped the tempo again, and i was able to catch the fish at a good rate.

I have never been a fan .. but one guy that fishes with us does use it.. and it does work.. as his bite rate is quicker.. like the masses i have to made myself some . and will give it a try this weekend.. i think it will help making your trace some time before the cast by spraying water on the bomb before dipping.. and leave it for a while so the goodies can soak in.. then you clip on the trace and cast.. this will prevent all the powder from sitting on the top when it hits the ground..

Why would the powder sit on the top?

You place the entire bom into the custard bottle and shake it about - it covers the entire bom.

correct ... it does cover the whole bol ...

but ... by top i mean wash off when it hits the surface of the water ... if the powder dies not stick to the bol well ennough(by wetting the ball, dipping it and waiting a while to set) it will whash most off when it hits the surface as it lands in the water.. by the time it gest to the bottom of the lake it is clean and forms no "CLOUD"..

We getting Technical huh .. ;-)
