Then there was this ... (World Background Chart - Pre loaded on Lowrance units)

Then this ... (Navionics Gold XL9 @ R3400)
These are primarily navigation charts in my opinion.

Then this ... (Navionics Platinum @ R5000)
These are also primarily navigation charts in my opinion.

Now we have this ... (Platinum Plus with Contour Overlay at only R3500!)
These are FISHING CHARTS!

That Platinum Plus screenshot looks familiar! I had the privilege to go out on Jasper at Sodwana which had those charts loaded - the detail is amazing.
My garmin "waterways" coverage of the area is positively featureless by comparison. Granted, it is only on a small handheld gps, but it would have been nice if the garmin coastal detail could approach that of their dams, even if only the popular coastal spots.

Tell me Fishton, are these Platinum Plus charts "loadable" on the Mark and Elite combo series?

What are the contour intervals for fairly shallow bays such as Algoa? (I am shopping around for a fishing ski unit for PE...)

Unfortunately the HD overlay is only available for HDS units.

Fishton how you doing i have the (Navionics Gold XL9 @ R3400)that i bought about 2011, looks like is out of date compared to the new one, does the new ons have the Vaaldam on as per the (Navionics Gold XL9) has on it and was it also Upgrade?
