One of the best places to catch the big mamma's is from the banks and gullys are close to the slipway @ RDW.

In fact this is one of the biggest gripes the bass fraternatiy has with the hook and cook brigade. At this time of the year all the bass move into these areas to spawn and are suckers for any plastic thrown at them. Of course the the hook and cook people don't put any of these big hen fish back for the spawn and it is often sad to see these chaps walking around with several 2kg + bass hanging on a string.

Basically to answer your question yes @ this time of year the bass fishing @RDW is excellent from the bank.:bflip

Yes you can fish RDW from the bank but guys be careful as there are crocks at RDW
The weather looks good for this weekend as the minimum temps picked up to 9

I've only been to RDW once, and didn't have a ducky thing then, tried and almost failed, caught 1 tiny little small bassie, from the bank, however the same day that I was there, there was a boat comp on and at weigh in time the guys were hauling some lunkers from their livewells, so boatfishing seems to deliver better results.

Having said that, I was also told yesterday by the same guy that reckons the bigger ones are starting to come out at RDW that some guys fishing for carp apparently took white finesse worms and these were very quickly shortened by the bass atacking the lures and they managed to get three of over 2.5kgs, now as far as I could gather they were fishing from the bank, so it's not all that impossible to get them from the bank, it might be a wee bit more difficult but not impossible.

Hope this helps, I must get out there again, it's just a little far to drive and the entrance fees when going there with a boat is not funny......
