Good afternoon to all.

Compliments of the season.

I have R800.00-R900.00 to spend per rod. Any suggestions other than Sensation and Docks rods will be appreciated.

Thanks

I fish with 13" Blue Marlin Magnaflex(2 piece) rods and are they really a good combination of quality and affordability. My wife fishes with the Okuma Carp Tournaments and are they very well priced, light and give you good casting distance. Also handles fighting big fish very good. I think I paid R350 per rod. If you can, go to Western Bazaars in Krugersdorp and go and try a few rods before you buy. It might be that a 12" rod works better for you than a 13" or vice versa. All I know is that the most expensive rod migh tnot be the best rod for you.

Hi there

You can have a look at Awa-shima's range. All of these rods where field tested by Craig neil.
I recently purchased 2 Pond masters and I am totally in love with them.

Here is a link where you can have a look at them.

Hope this helps.

The Blue Marlins always make me feel comfortable with their quality. Have 2 Galaxy carp graphites but looking for something for the socials. Thank you for all the tips. Will definitely have a look at the AWA-Shimas and the magnaflex (If I find a place that has stock). The Magnaflex seems to be popular indeed!

Good to see that there are still anglers who post on Sealine and have good recommendations. :)

P.S. Which tackle dealer has the best AWA-Shima range in and around Gauteng?

I paid R350.00 per rod. All of mine are 13". Bought 4 because I like them and they seem scarce. Got mine at Western accessories too. They cast like a bliksem with 7lb XX mainline loaded on a Magnum sport :) . I fish with 9lb XX most of the time and handles that extremely well too.
