River Rod ?

Hi all any advise on a good 7 or 8  foot long river rod?

Normally when fishing in a river there is not always space for the 12 and 13 foot rods.

There are a lot of nice 7 to 8 foot rods in the shops but most of them have a max weight rating of 20 to 30 grams.  (Spinning rods)

I'm looking for something that I can use with a mielie bomb attached

A 2 piece 10' graphite rod takes up very little space and you have all the power you want. Can easily throw 100m with mealiebom.

I fish with 4 X 7 foot Okuma's, the only shortcoming I've noticed with them is the  limited casting distace that they give me.  Other then that I cant complain, when hooking a big one the key lies with how well you rig is assembled and gut quality, not to mention the reel you using.

Why are you fishing with four rods? Does it greatly improve your experience?

Because I dont have a canoe or bait boat I figured that 4 rods will help to create a "feeding ground" quicker if i cast at regular intervals, given I cast at the same spot.  Ive had sessions where I start out with 4 rods, but as the tempo increases I reduce to two.

What about the sensation power plus rods. Have heared very good thing about them.

I have 2 x 10' Sensation Thundercast Rods and comparing them to the other rods, this is the most versatile rods in my collection. Good distance, light, never had a hookpull, and my lucky charms. lol. They never fail to produce fish. And don't be afraid to load them ! M3 sinker with a m@#$%se bomb. They take the punch happilly...
