To get proper fish in Richardsbay today requires a lot more patients than most other places. Going fishing for a few hours during the day will 9 times out of 10 only produce a few undersize fish. If you can find a safe spot and are willing to spend a good 24 hours next to the water and with the right bait, you will go home wish a few nice grunters.

I remember when I was alot younger we used to fish from the harbour wall where the dredger used to lie and we were guaranteed a nice size grunter or kob to take home! This was back in 1995/1996. The fishing there was Awesome to say the least. I you went and sat on t he shore in the harbour you could catch anything from sole to crabs to BIG sharks.
