I was planning on renewing my Rhino Gold Card membership but decided against it because the benefits of having such a card have fallen away. YOU DO NOT GET FREE ENTRY INTO THE KZN PARKS AS FROM 1st of APRIL 2011. SEEMS THAT IF YOU HAVE A VALID CARD IT IS STILL VALID UNTIL ITS EXPIRY DATE BUT IF YOU RENEW IT YOU WILL STILL HAVE TO PAY THE NORMAL ENTRANCE FEE AS THE REST OF THE PUBLIC !

You are reminded that the present Free Gate Entry benefit offered by the iSimangaliso Wetland Park Authority expires in 6 months time, on 31 March 2011. This benefit is negotiated annually. We are in the process of discussing this with the Wetland Authority. You will be informed of any changes before 1 April 2011.
HOWEVER, the Rhino GOLD Card ACCOMMODATION DISCOUNTS are STILL VALID in the iSIMANGALISO WETLAND PARK RESORTS. It is only the Gate Entry benefit that may expire.
Kindly bear this in mind when you plan your 2011 Easter Holidays. The Resorts affected by this are Kosi Bay, uMkhuze Game Reserve, Sodwana Bay, Cape Vidal, St Lucia Estuary (no gate/ entrance fee applicable) and Maphelane.
