I sent them screen prints of this thread and hence the sudden reply and visit by the rep to OS.

I also complained that I have a manufacturers account with Blue Marlin, Pure Fishing, Kingfisher, Akals and others so am able to service and maintain reels but nothing doing with Rapapla VMC

They said they would investigate this for registered businesses..... Nothing forthcoming. I must just be working on more popular reels as I don't have a big issue with parts from them even less with Kingfisher but others as mentioned earlier.... Sheesh

Last month, I ordered a few bits and pieces for proactive service to my personal Stella 10kSW and 18kSW - and the parts were all in stock with R/VMC SA and delivered to me next day. That is Fantastic Service.

A few years ago, my Calcutta 400B Levelwind system gave up the ghost (granted - on fish WAY bigger than it was designed for). Back then, R/VMC said I would have to wait 6 months until their next "shipment". Shit Service - I ordered the spares on-line from Shimano UK, and they were delivered to me 3 days later...... I was highly annoyed with RVMC SA back then. Rightly so.

They have seriously Upped their game bigtime compared to the old days.....

I don't envy them for the stock holding for spares.... no idea how many reels are current stock items, and if you add past series...parts stock must be HUGE.

Personal Experience, I think they are doing a great job compared to previously.

My 10c worth
Cheers, RB

They have a budget and stock holding on spares of R2m, thats a lot of money and if the spares stand on the shelf that is money out of circulation.

So what reels should they keep what spares for..... consider this, there are probably 4 x as many freshwater shimano reels, spinning, carp, baitrunner, baitcasters than there are Saltwater reels. The average freshwater bank angler has 6 Shimanos and Bass Angler upward of 30..... that's probably why I get parts so easily? I do more maintenance on thse than any other reels

If you not having any luck in SA, Just go to Mike's reel repairs.com

I ordered spares from them no problem, was on time, and cost the same as it wouldve cost me here, except, I did not have to wait for ever for it! its a good site for reel spares and they have EVERYTHING you can think of in terms of reel spares for any reel!

Update to this thread....
I dropped my Trini DC last weekend ...... result was a badly bent handle!

On Tuesday I ordered a new handle from Johan in the service department at RapalaVMC. Not sure when the package would arrive I was surprized when the package was delivered to my office on Friday afternoon.

Thanks for great service RapalaVMC

I have a recent positive remark to this thread.

I wanted to order some new spool pins for my Trini A reels. Sent a mail to them, and immediately got a response from Robin. Unfortunately he could not help me as Shimano don't supply spool pins separately, but he gave me the run down and advice as to what I could possibly do. Well done Robin, good service!
