R50 Dam

Bracing the cold weather and some killer winds that had arrived , armoured in a warm trackpants and a Hooded Jacket, the dam was in my sights.

I Arrived at the Dam at around 10:00am, and the first line went in at 10:30am.
Not long before there was action on my rods but not any real takers, a proper take and a real run occurred at around 12:00am. I WAS ON !! I calmly played the fish towards the bank, and then landed it safely, the first fish of the day was within the 2kg range. Not big, but not bad for the circumstances.

Soon after releasing the fish (30mins later), my other rods soon had some pick-ups, the next one was on merely a half-an-hour later. This ONE *one of them* was slightly bigger, (± 2.5kg).
This is where it gets interesting, a twist in the tale...

While playing the fish towards the bank and into the net, it suddenly felt a bit heavier than what it first appeared to be. There was TWO FISH on my rod !!! While playing my fish, it had swam into another fish which was snagged on a grass pile, this where the second fish came from. Nonetheless, both were landed safely.
Thereafter another two were landed, with the biggest being around the 3kg mark.

A total of 5 fish were landed and lost 2 fish. *all fish were safely released*
