Psychedelic Jig Heads

Had a bash at painting some jig heads this evening.
After watching in horror as beautiful 1/4oz nitro jig turned into a lump of lead and a Gamakatsu hook after too much heat I managed to regulate things.

Not the neatest job but it got better the more I did.

Now do you think the fish will appreciate the hard work (specially the pink!)?

Hi Streak,

Yea, it looks good and I'm pretty sure you'll get a good day's fishing in, I'm sorry that we have'nt got the pre painted jigs in SA, as the price might scare some of the less afluent anglers, I'm not trying to be smug or anything, but check the web for Berkley's jigs on purefishing.com and you will see the real deal and agree that the painted jig will be better than the plain ones, e.g. for shad, could you imagine your red heads with Pearl white 4" minnow... Shad Killers, or even the new Tandori chicken colour, which is a mix of bloody and Pearl white. I can smell the Leeries.

Let me know if your interested. I will gladly give you the details

Starting to believe "urban legend" that red coloured heads on jigs, poppers, drop shot, etc resemble red gills of bait fish and thats why they are taken by the predators.

Anybody have a more scientific view on this?

Van,
Always interested! Hopefully all I have bought so far for my S Coast session has been designed more to catch fish than fisherman as with many of the products out there.

I leave in little over a week.

The colours of my jigs were not scientifically chosen, it's the only powder I could get!
