Yesterday morning the shad were full up, shot for shot, at Sandspit next to the Umzimkulu River.

Fishing from the block we caught two 4kg salmon and a snapper of 2kg on an outgoing tide in fairly rough water.

Any of you guys throwing Rapalas at night off the Spit? I know there have been a couple Kob coming out over the last few weeks.....

Here is a pic I took a about 2 weeks back... that first hectic lightning Storm at about 11:30 PM looking towards the Block...blurry as all hell, but beautiful evening... nothing came out that night......Thats a very blurry rapala chucker in the first two.. :)

That's pretty hectic weather to be out, Nepps. The guys have been making decent catches of kob on sandspit, there's also been plenty of small shad, also saw one small garrick come out saturday morning. 2 weeks ago someone pulled out a couta off the block.

Keane - Yeah I heard about that couta... mate of mine told me that apparently 5 guys had baits out that day, all in exactly the same spot, and one oke got 3 pulls, one being that Couta, the other two couta burn offs, and the other okes didn't even get a touch...Crazy....

As to the weather... it was a fair way offshore, and I had a camera in my hand, not a 13ft graphite lightining conducter made by Assasin so I wasn't two stressed!!! :)
