nope..that would of been something on the light tackle.bloody hell dude

bait was sand prawn
rod is a waft venom casting version 5-8oz
reel is a fathom 25n filled with 300yds spider wire braid and about 400 meters ultima tournament grey violet..nothing light in that lol still gave a proper rev

went out again today in this evil wind and got a spot and guys were returning from it with elf.. one was still alive and all caught on pilchard

i had chokka and bloodworm.. they had left after using up all their bait and nothing left for me..give it a whirl with ice white choke but nada..only wanted pilchard..aagh ya next time..will stock up on pillies in the week and sneak in a session or two.

That looks like good water for an elf, I'm sure a spoon would have been gobbled up. Out of interest, any idea how old that kolstert would be? 100g a year..

I used to eat loads of them but not too much anymore since I learned how slow they grow, there are lots of big ones like that around where I fish and they are in no danger of collapse anytime soon or in our lifetimes haha but interesting to me no doubt. They start breeding at a small size like freshwater tilapia that is why they never get fished out. Found to the Mediterranean as far as I know..and ja so yummy in a pan. Love to eat them..haha just haven't had one in a while.
