Old Healy Reel - ever seen one before?

Apart from being a keen (mainly fly) fisherman, I also get great pleasure out of collecting vintage tackle and old angling related literature. I have recently added the attached reel to my collection which I am interested in finding out more about. It measures 5 inches in diameter and is faintly marked "Made by J.H. Healy Johannesburg". Has anyone ever seen one of these before or do you know anthing about this maker? The reel is quite solid and seems to be made from some heavy aluminium or similar alloy. It has a brass foot.
