Oddball tackle does the trick

So had about an hour to kill in Mtunzini, before an appointment. Luckily had my new kayak rod and a spare reel in the boot.

A 4'6", 6-12kg Sensation Sloppy and a big Jarvis Walker Scorpion 650 reel.

Popped into one of the local general dealer/tackle shops and managed to get 2 x rigged pogey tail shads of about 4" and a 1/2 ounce each, in red and green as my tackle box was home and did not have anything else with me - this way no bait or mess and probably no fish- but will keep clean for my appointment.

So of the estuary and found a quiet spot - start casting - in about a 20km/h wind and I manage about a 15-20 m cast at best with the short kayak rod, but on my 4th retrieve - Fish On !.

OK wasn't much of a fight, the fish tried its best, but with the strong rod and reel, it was more like winching it out - and landed a nice 30 cm guitar fish/lesser sandshark !

My PB on dropshot so far - offcourse no camera handy - but still a nice way to spend the time
