Over last weekend I thought I will take a drive to Ballito..No Fishing signs just about everywhere inc Salt, Black, Shaka etc. I went then to Umhloti..same problem...why are there no signs for allowed spot in these vicinities?
I think for Umhloti fishing is allowed only after 4.pm and only at specific locations..it is posted on the info boards. With other locations phone the local munipilaity and find out.
The issue at umdloti is they dont allow fishing between 8am an 4pm...they prob think its office hours for all the fish in the sea...lol! On a serious note those laws were passed because umdloti has a high rate off holiday makers and the umdloti ratepayers association wouldn't want out off towners getting messed up with the locals..further more the no fishin spots are also bathing areas with lifeguards posted during those hours..hence the fishing regulations..btw i personally know the regulations are very strictly enforced during the day at umdloti...so try not to chance it..
