Hi all, i was wondering if anyone here likes the new super MG baits by supercast. For me, i used to use the MG competition popcorn, but have found that the new one that SUPER MG BAITS makes is not even similar. I dont like it and refuse to use it. I also bought the new bleeding floaties and they dont even smell the same. The mazina they use around the floatie also makes me grrrrrillll when i touch it. i just wish they never sold the company, i was gettimg some good results with the feed and bleeding floaties. What are all ur opinions about the new super MG baits.

Seems you have missed a few of my earlier posts on the subject so please let me assist.
I have been involved in MG Baits in terms of their supply and product sourcing and manufacturing since 2004 and Catch 1195 joined us in 2008.
The MG Baits company went bankrupt and was liquidated. it was bought by a group of investors of whom all but one are in the fishing tackle trade and Protea anglers.
The name Super was added as a buffer against the many debtors of MG Baits who would still have a claim on the liquidated company.
Currently co-located with Super Cast for ease of transition and to be able to maintain distribution while all the small challenges are addressed.
All manufacturin takes place off site with 80% of the manufacturing done by persons previously involved in supply and manufacture of product for MG Baits.
As for the products:
MG Popcorn. This was never, ever manufactured by MG Baits old or new company. It is supplied by a 3rd party supplier who manufactures this feed for Hookit / Champion and MG Baits so we are supplying what has been supplied as MG popcorn since 2008 via the same manufacturer.
Dips and Flavours. Myself and Catch_1195 are the holders/owners to numerous of the recipes of Bol Dips and Mutis and all but 3 of the flavours used in the Bleeding Floatie range. The previous management of MG Baits watered down many of our dips to improve profit margins and we now see to it that there is no watering down hence a probable change in aroma.
Bleeding floaties. I have supplied and made floaties to MG Baits since 2004 and am still supplying to them. The recipe for the bleeding floaties has remained the same in terms of powders and flavouring used to process the floaties and we still make them ourselves.
Yes we do use Mazeina now to make sure they don't stick to one another. The addition was as a result of our continued development and taking heed of the requirements of our clients, "You the FISHERMAN"
Many of the products you are now buying are still the previously manufactured products, meaning products prepared by the previous company (myself included) that have since just been bottled in the new packaging........
So it is in all probability that you have actually bought old stock that has a new label on it.......

The best you'll get is Littleboy is a Fruity flavour, it is made by Dean Pelser and not even Schalk knows what the blend is mad up off.
I can help with the MG Baits base flavours, my knowledge of the Supercast flavours is from what I can identify from smell, ie. Devils Fork is an Almon and Garlic base, which almon and which almond is a mystery
Gatvol is TCP and Almon and just as with Gumtree it has an awfull amount of sweetner in it. (Yes I do tate the dips at least once to determin - Sweet/Sour/Salty or Neutral and sometimes it helps to pick up on a hidden element.
Send me a PM and I'll try help to give a basic indication where possible.
For obvious reasons giving all the base ingredients would not be wise and then also for example which almond is used, there are over 40 types of almond flavourings in the food industry, some are Esthers, some are alcohol etc, etc and each reacts with other flavours and chemicals differently so some almmonds work differently when in different dips
Then some mixes create confusion ie. The Original Lootie and the undiluted VRM do not have a drop of Molasses in them. I recently had an innings with a customer who refused to buy the VRM we have on the market, it is in it's undiluted form and smells as iff there is Molasses in it.
Sent the guy off with a bottle, told him to use it in 1/3 of the previous volumes and he nailed the fish.

The For Sure products was a seperate range created by the previous owners of MG Baits and with the liquidation they were bought along with the rest of the stock and equipment of the liquidated estate.
We had nothing to do with the brand and from what i understand the stock will be sold off to recoup some of the money put into MG Baits.
We will not be continuing with the For Sure baits as it is registered to MidVaal Trading but we may by law sell the stock we bought in the liquidation
