Awesome. I bet he had to think about it twice before pulling the trigger.

"no Bye catch" and selective shooting man that fish is once in a lifetime.

This one was with rod and reel.

Actually it wasn't. It was shot by a Denham Howe on an atoll in Moz, dec 6 2007.

See http://www.freedive.net/ibsrc/fish_frms/f_giant_trevally.htm

for full details.

As for the first pic, that GT unfortunately does not qualify for a SA record as the diver in question was not a member of SAUFF at the time.

As with any sport, you have to be a registered and current member of the main body to be able to claim records.

Sad as this is a very good fish!

WELL DONE IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT, YOU NEED A NOBEL PRIZE

The Nobel Prize is a PEACE prize!!!

Nothing peaceful about that pic.

I'm not knocking Sparky, excellent achievement but the spearos will hate me for being a catch and release dude.:SSS

Ya I know its off topic but just so that people dont mistake it.

The Nobel Peace Prize is the Nobel Peace prize.

A Nobel Prize has 5 different categories.

You are now educated.

Any case, brilliant fish.
