i decided to go try out my latest project...so i could add the final touches before delivery...i do believe it is the smallest lightest kickboat with rod holders...tackle box support...trolling motor...fish fnder...and it wouldnt surprise me if its not the cheapest.

pontoons are only 1.5 metres long...

the frame weighes less then my PB bass...

a fish finder which cost less than R1000

a trolling motor which cost less than R1000

i took it out for a quick fish late on sunday afternoon...i must say i was rather impressed with the little trolling motor...i expected it to run a lot slower...i found the shaft support and adjustment clamps where a little weak...made of plastic...but nothing a little engineering cant sort out.

thanks...

it was delivered today...sold as R&D project for R5500...never to be repeated again (what a lot of work for a little money)...pontoons...frame...fish finder...trolling motor and battery....complete ready to fish...customer only has to add rods and tackle...i took it out once for an hour at shongweni on sunday afternoon...just to make sure everything worked...and caught fish on it...so it had a thumbs up already...:wfish

the pic of the kickboat on the water had rorys pontoons on...here is a picture of the kickboat just before it was delivered...with its new pontoons on...i also fitted the switch next to the seat so that you dont have to turn around to switch the trolling motor on and off...i also decided to attach a cord to the main frame from the trolling motor just in case it falls off...at least it will hang on the cord...

a pic of a light weight fella total weight less than 100 kg ...before the switch was fitted.

and a pic with fat boy...total weight...including batteries tackle box and fat boy around 160 kg...just to show you how the poor kickboat maitanins with the fellas in the heavy weight league...::Sstrong like russia...and yes the 18 lb trolling motor pulls the weight without a problem.

this was a once off project...but i do have standard units and second hand units of the older version...i have also ordered stock of pontoons which should be ready next week...thay are also making a bag to fit the whole unit...plus pontoons(folded up) flippers...pump etc....because from mid january i will be stocking parts and complete units of our kickboats and pontoons...

the reason i decided to have a bag made up...is so that you dont forget your flippers or pump...etc when you go fishing...everything will fit in the bag...and the bag is made of heavy duty mesh...so when the kickboat comes off the water and everything is wet...no problem just throw it in the bag...will be collecting the sample today after lunch...will post pics

Hi cranky

Love the look of the smaller pontoons , still recon I'm going to need the bigger ones?
I weigh 95kg's.

Then just checking is the boat in the pic designed to go forward or back?....do the pontoons have to face to other way for forward motion as in your pic of the 2012 version, as i prefer the look of the way it sits played with short ends in front...just interrested?

cheers
