need quick advice

Hi all,

Im using a leader to prevent break offs while casting and was wonder if I need to use the same strength line for my bomb.. In other words, the line used for my siding rietvlei rig between the two swivels where my mushroom/spring will be. Or can I use thinner/lighter line?

i would say lighter and then hook links even lighter that if you have fish breaking off then it will not have the whole rig following it around getting snagged up
but that is just my thoughts

what generally gets used is 20-24 lb for your rig / where your sinker is on. 7-10 lb for your hook links and 18lb for the leader. So if you break off the weakest link will be the 7-10 lb line that even a small carp can break off when snagged.

Yes you use the same strenght. Otherwise that will be the weak link when you cast and it can break. All the weight is on your bom so you cant go with a shaft line that is weaker

Hi, Please would someone give me advice on the Shimano DL 6000 RB. Is this a good quality reel that is going to last for a long time and is this reel worth going for?

Shimano is good all the way.

I prefer the xt, but my fishing buddy got the dl10000rb, and its a good reliable reel
