My sons friend is returning from the US shortly and wants to bring a Lowrance fishfinder/gps back with him. Can anyone tell me if there are problems with this regarding local maintenance and software ? Will it be plug and play or will he have to have it "localised" ?

Hi,
Haven't heard of anyone being able to "localise" it. Be aware of the Lowrance geomapping issue. You can still buy maps for here. You will not get support from the local agents with regards to parts/backup.
