Mushroom sinkers

Hi guys,
If you had to re-design the popular mushroom sinker, what would you change on the different shapes available on the market now?
Things like tapered shaft or straight shaft. Straight end to the shaft or with the ring on the edge? Tapered head or straight edge on the head almost like a halfround? What makes the ms such a popular sinker?

What a question! Haha! Next to a spring it is the best way to get a bomb in the water. Don't know about the designs. I just buy the cheapest.
