not sure surely they told you that info when you did the course as you have to have a licence to operate a Vhf radio.

Hi Willie

Shelley gebruik net 29 MHZ. Hulle het n' VHF radio maar gebruik dit glad nie. Ons was forser om 29 mhz radios vir jetskis te kry.

In KZN I think you will find most clubs use 29 Mhz, and VHF only when you leave an area controlled by a port captain. So on our stretch of coast it is probably only launching out of Durban harbour that you need VHF. From past experience it seems that they do not use VHF from Richardsbay Skiboat Club and Meerensee, not sure why not because you are in port captain controlled water?

In Mozambique, it seems that everyone uses VHF.

Hi Willie

Did you manage to find the channels and frequencies? I have a motorolla P110 that I want to program for VHF use. I know that I need 16 and 12 to exit port here in EL.

DO you know of any other channels that get used for chatting?

Also.. is ch 12 simplex or duplex? I've found contradicting lists on the net.

Thanks
