Went to harties from saturday 9am to sunday 9am... Fish were feeding like mad, guys caught keepnets full of carp and some nice kurper. We fished for cats and got stuck alot, this almost never happened other times so i can only think with all the floods the river pumped in some garbage and trees and stuff... Also seems like harties now has the "water grass" bug to, luckily only when the wind pumps, as was the case saterday. None the less, fish were biting on anything and its been ages since ive seen so many smaller carps and good sized kurpers being pulled out by everyone, even the small guys casting in at 50m. Shoals of small kurper was also everywhere early mornings. Prices now are R50 pp and R20 per car and R125 per car per night, so no more 3 cars per stand taking up the space of 2 stands. This one guy with a red hilux took 1 stand for his camp and the other stand for his bakkie only, poepollll.

Fish came out on almond mellows, tjop tjp mellows, mielies, worms and dough almond and banana backing, garlic and raspberry floaties, not in any combination, just about anything you put on.

Which specie is this? Blue or 3 kol? Also, we went to target cats, they were plenty too, but nothing bigger than 5.5kg, they were deep however and none of them came out at less than 150m from the side.

I was on the dam Saterday a week ago and we also noticed all the patches of grass. It was a bit of a strange day, we were fishing in the bay between Ifafi and Meerhof, we were targeting Barbel and caught 11 nice fish by 11h00 after that it went quiet, not even a hint of a bite. There was a storm brewing and the wind had turned, blowing straight over the bird island towards us, it smelled like a well soiled babies nappy, we got the hell out of there. Gee that island pongs!!

we tried fishing from a boat at harties a few times, but we suck at it hehe... we have more success fishing from the bank

Unlimited, forgot to mention, it does look like a Blue Kurper. Was that the size that was coming out or were there bigger ones.

about 30m left of the dead tree in the water... Camping is good, grass upt to the water, sites at the far left have light at the water up to the middle of the fishing area, from the middle to the far right dont have lights but in my opinion has the better fishing. Ablution is good, not the best and most fancy but usebale and hot water. We have been going ther for the last 3 years and have never had a safety issues or heard of someone that had one.

jip. klap that harties toll road till you get to the off ramp, take the off ramp en turn right. head straight until you get the4 way stop (sasol infront of you), turn left at the 4 way stop and go up the hill and down the hill until you come to the first robot, turn left (big wheel thing is on your left) abd carry on straight into the residential area, continue straight until the road makes a bend to the left (school somewhere on the right) continue straight until you get to the meerhof gate on your right hans side .. pm me if you want a google map
