Recently, an upcountry Sealiner, had a 2nd hand Saltiga 40, sent directly to me, by the previous owner .... brief was to fully strip, clean, check out, service and off course ..... fit MAG-IT.

The last part was easy, but a few surprises followed, with a reel that looked brand new (with a few scuff- and scratch marks)from the outside !

First the "easy bit" ...

Same scenario for Saltiga 40/50 .... up to max of 4 of these low profile magnets, can go on the plate .... most use 2-3 .

After cleaning and then neutralising with CorrosionBlock liquid, the little pitmarks can be clearly seen on the frame where the stainless studs and aluminium meets !

Then it was a real (reel)battle to press the AR bearing out, as same corrosion started between frane recess and bearing .... eventually got it out, disassembled the bearing, cleaned, relubed and refitted this expensive little part, that could have been "lost" so easily !

Next surprise ...
The bottom one of the two little bearings, inside the handle knob, was seized/corroded onto the shaft !

This one came off after some serious "soaking" and some "encouragement" from a luttle bearing puller, but sonetimes, "THIS" can be the end result !

Occasionally, the only way "off", is in bits & pieces ... check out the rust inside the aluminium housing of the knob, where the bearing was seated !
