it all depends on how you cast\throw your lure .it also depends on the type of lure your using and what fish you ara targeting

We use floating plugs to fish in very rocky areas, they dont get stuck that much, we catch a lot of kingies and garrick in season

The ones we use we make ourselves, we use a dowl of approx 35mm cut the face at 45 deg, taper slightly towards the back. Drill the back out to about 8mm to about half way, put the wire in and then pour lead in the back to give a bit of weight. then retrieve it fast so that it works like a popper on the top of the water, do not pull too fast so that it jumps out of the water, with trial and error you should go tight in no time. I nearly forgot, we paint them white, some we give a red head as well. Hope this helps.
