Lure Fishing Durban Harbor

Hi Gents,Want to fish the harbor with lures.
My boat is R 'rated have COF up to date.Is there any guide lines were to fish and not to. Don't want to have the water police on my case. I thought it's a good idea to have a local fisherman with me to help.Don't want to bring the boat all the way form gauteng and can't fish.Any help will be appreciated.

Stay away from DCT and Peir 1. Ive fished bluff terminal and a small stretch of the island view terminal. Southern tip of point terminal is where a lot of guys anchor as well. Sand bank in the middle and the bluff side also will produce.

You will see guys out most days as well and should be able to get some input on wheres it happening.

The harbour is a lot of fun on lure.

Watch out for the shisps. They will run you over

Draw a line from Pier 1 to coaling appliances(Red marker) no fishing towards the navy base side. If you do, you will be approached either by the navys navakuru or the SAP water wing and be asked to move.

Island view terminals fall into the no go area (Light green)

No anchoring in shipping channels, if you want to anchor, keep it inside the red and green marker boays by the sand banks.

You are also not allowed to fish up close to the docked ships, you need to be a certain distance from the ships (Not sure of the distance, i think 50m ???)

There is a yellow marker boay in the harbour entrance, you are not allowed past that with a cat R vessel

Thanks gents,Was thinking last night to hunt down some local guys to join me on my boat. Any good suggestion for boat storage for a week in June July school holiday. I will stay in doonside in a flat, so no praking for boats.
I haven't seen any like boat storage places in toti.Thanks
