Lowrance units generally get shipped with one of 3 primary transducers:-

*Note: if the PDT-WBL is mounted in-hull, the temperature won't be accurate.

Set Parameter:

This test was done on a BassGlider20, using a Lowrance HDS8, doing a speed of 2.5kph maintaining a bearing of 275° at location S 29°41.124’ / E 030°50.254’ (Inanda Dam, KZN,SA)

Sensitivity and Colourline were set to manual with both fixed at 80% for the 83 & 50 Khz and 75% for the 200kHz.

Remarks:
The benefit of the Broadband in the 83kHz (left) is clearly visible, a nice clear crisp image.

2. PDT-WBL:  Trolling motor mount while powered by trolling motor

Remarks:
The 83kHz on the left seems to have more contrast and be a bit more pixelated, but a great return none the less, the surrounding fish are clearly visible.  Some interference is noticeable on the right (200kHz) side due to the ‘noise’ coming from the electric motor.  When the electric motor is off, the echo display is identical to the HST-WSBL transom mount skimmer.
Note: Do NOT use the PDT-WBL in the Installation transducer selection menu.  The result was a very weak image in comparison to the HST-WSBL selection.  So rather use the latter.

3. HST-DFSBL: Transom mount while powered by main motor.

Remarks:
This image on the left from the 35° / 50kHz comes as a bit of a shock.  It might be a bit more ‘noisy’ than the previous two in the 83kHz frequency, but the definition between bottom structure and cover (standing timber), is fantastic.  Even in the cover, the definition seems so much better for locating fish.  The 200kHz however is not that great for fishing, but the narrower cone and bottom contour definition is outstanding for sonar logging with DrDepth!
