Almost everybody with a boat will fish in the Kabels & Reiers Baai area. It is a large area with dead trees and embankments hosting reeds etc. The fish have also become accustomed to the fact that there is always food available in that specific area. What we have done in the past is to recce the area with fishfinder and once we found a suitable spot we logged the spot on the GPS and prepared the "fishing area" the day we arrive there. One bit of advice, don't target obvious places like the dead trees etc cause everybody goes there, when you get there the next morningsome other boat will be benefitting from your hard work. Look for the drop offs and old river bed blah blah. Stay away from the gorge across from the Forever Resorts launch area, it looks nice but I have never heard of anyone even getting a bite there. The Blue Kurpers are very active at the moment with some of my friends catching up to 40 Kurpers each per day, ranging between 1kg - 2kg. The Carp are active in between the Kurpers. We have caught them on worm, floaties, dough and of course the Barbel are everywhere. You can use rabbit pellets as an attractor, be careful when using maroek as it tends to attract the small fish.
