Lifejackets or Personal Floating Devices (PFD) wanted

Or can someone advise if i need a lifejacket or pfd when going on dams like harties with a canoe? I've looked and they say inland you dont need to have one but can someone please confirm this? Still would like to get the lifejackets though.

You most certainly need a lifejacket. Drowning in freshwater is no different to drowning in saltwater, but in harties you will probably sh!t yourself to death from diarrhea before you can drown.

I have 100N keyhole life jackets I want to sell, but you will probably need something more comfortable for the canoe.
