Hi

 

I am  brand new to jet ski fishing , I have just completed my skippers  - my ski

is in the garage which I purchased from Jayden at Racetech , what do I need to do

from a legal perspective to get her on the water.She has a U number , COF , Seaworthy all the standard stuff you get from the exceptional dealings @ Racetech.I am a member at the Durban Ski boat club , do I need to get an S number etc etc.

As you are a member of DSBC may i suggest that you get a club number.
There are many facilities that make it difficult for you if they think you are not a club member.
One of which is DSBC. Try launching with a DT number and the price goes thru the roof.
And if you can, go for Cat D, it just gives you more choices.

DSBC requires radios, oars and all sorts of other useless stuff. Also you cannot cross the harbour entrance.

Do I need them ( DSBC ) to seaworthy the vessel again ? it was done 2 weeks ago.


I am a member of the club , can I cross the harbour mouth say 1.8km out to sea ?

Im not sure if DSBC requires you to redo your seaworthy and as far as I know they mean you cant cross the harbour at all. Hence me not bothering with them.

The DSBC will require a re-survey to obtain your sticker (2010 SADSAA/SAMSA). This together with your equipment, a waiver (for the port captain) and your S number will give access to the beach.
