hi guys, has anyone drop shotted in Langebaan yet. a group of us are off to do some fishing,and my missus wants to do some dropshot fishing. any places

yacht club off the rocks will probably be your best bet, or from the wreck, with a 1/2 oz jig head you can reach the channel or very close to it.

only check the thread now...i am also wanting to knw ....but i agree that the the yacht club will be the one place that will work ...using the sand prawn....
the challenge would be to get the proper jighead to be able to cast the distance or we must wade abit...then also the current might just be a problem depending on the direction.....

You guys probably already went off to Langebaan but here's some details on my findings

The new penny shrimp is a winner with the stumps and caught a sandy on this....but i had to cast down it's throat basically.

also the blood worm is getting hits...but no takers....

But the summer is still not in full swing and the fish seems a bit hesitant the last time i visited... two weeks ago.

i have been getting alot of fleck from my live bait counterparts on the boat....

Has anyone caught yellowtail in langebaan over the last few years. I have heard about catches but never varified them?

Have caught at Dassen Island just down the drag.

Also whereabouts are they caught if they are in dead caught there?

Went to Langebaan on the weekend got 3 nice smoothhounds on chokka great fun on lighter tackle.

Not sure where the spit is please let me know. they were caught at the main beach about 50m to the right of the buoy.What other spots are good for smoothhounds and is any other kind of shark or ray caught in the lagoon

sandies, Bronzies, but they usually further up towards the mouth side. who knows they can swim wherever they like i reckon
