Komatipoort

Hi All,

It has almost been a week sice I left to fish Komatipoort for bass and other species.

What an awesome destination. There is a local bass guide whom lives in Komatipoort and has access to some 70 dams in the area. He knows his stuff too. Saw him pull 2 bass on consecutive casts over 3.8kgs.

He's a train driver by day and is a barman in the local pub called "Die Kroeg" not to say that he drinks - quite the other extreme he is a complete teetoddler of note.

The weater did not grace us whilst we were there with howling winds but off my boat we managed in excess of 40 fish on Saturday although the vast majority of them were rats n mice we had a complete gas.

Unfortunately the fishing was so hot that there wasn't even time to haul the camera out for a few pics so guys I is afraid I has let you down in that dept.

I think this is an awesome destination. A great place to take the boss and kids and you don't even need a boat. The boss and kids can game drive around Kruger (10km away) whilist the lads go fishin. Accomodation ranges from 5 star to camping. Maputo is just 2hrs drive away - "lekker by die see". Big blues were caught on bass worms - there are tiggers, Barble, reds, blues, bass, and a whole heard of other species.

I have contact details etc for Places to stay if anybody is interest pM me
