knot for tying braid to hooK

Tell me guys in the know. When dropshotting do you always fish with a floro leader or do you tie the braid straight to the hook. If so what knot do you use for the braid to your hook. Sorry if this has been asked befor but I cant find a thread related. Also an illustration of the braid to hook knot will be nice. Tx

hi buckles,

no always use fluro carbon as u will get more hook ups as it is harder for the fish to see. go to knots forum there u will find plenty on leader knots etc.

Yup, agree Sven. Always use Fluoro to terminal tackle. Increases your hookup chances by 4:1.
Buckles... if you don't wanna use Fluoro, then the knot to tie for braid to terminal is the Palomar knot... recommended by Berkley...

hi buckles

Generally you join a Leader onto the mainline of about a meter or meter and a half. The knot to use is your preference but if you are using Braid a good knot is a Bimini Twist on the braid forming a loop with a Yucatan Knot from the leader to the Loop. Search the net and you are bound to find good explanation on how to do the knots. Now Leader to the Jighead, it is best to use a Rapala Knot as this gives the jighead better action with a soft plastic attached.
