Just gathering some info when the best times for the chokka are, From when I was commercially fishing we always had better chokka at buffels in the winter autumn months and more summertime for Simons town, is this still the case?
We managed some good Chokka and quite a few decent sized mackerel off the yaks in Simonstown just before the end of Autumn this year. We sat just near the buoys just outside the harbour. The Chokka were pretty decent sized and there were plenty.
I have also hear that Summer seems to be the best time for them in Simonstown and then pretty much all year round at Buffels (as far as I know)...
