Hey guys just in need of some quick info...apologies if this has been previously discussed ....after my recent drop shot outing i'm now completely fireline-less lol ...need to replenish my reel Asap ....now feeling a bit adventurous and would like to top up my reel with anything other than the sweared by fireline......was thinkin of suffix in 10lb class ,either tht or kingfisher casting braid....anyone use these brands ? Is it worth the adventure trip?

IMO OD- the KF casting braid isn't that bad, just a bit pricey. But would rather go that route.

I say this because with the braid you have direct contact with your lure and the fish, without the stretch of the line, thus resulting in better feel of your bites and solid hook-ups.

I have one of my reels spooled with 20Pound KF Casting Braid. It seems fine as far as Knot strength etc but the stuf that they fuse the Dyneema together to make it a single strand seems to be comming off. It is not frayed meaning it is still bonded as on strand but it does worry me as this has never been evident with the fireline. I am still to catch the big one and put it to a real test.

Hey Ocean... where you been bru? Won any more ESA Comps?

I've been using the Sufix Performance braid for long time now... been absolutely fine. Just stay clear of the Sufix Gyro... thats rubbish. You could also use Tufline XP or Whiplash Pro... both great braids. Then some guys like Power Pro...

Just remember that a harder braid works better in "windy" conditions, you get less windknots. In fact I don't get any with the Fireline ...

I have both Fireline and Kingfisher casting braid, will NEVER buy last mentioned again. If I can't afford Fireline then I'll rather use mono !

Have the following, but haven't used it all that much ...

I can't say anything bad about Viper Braid, have it on a 12000 Spheros, soft on the fingers and casts great.

Have mustad braid ... no problem with that either, loaded on a Penn CV6000 grinder

only way to find out if it's good is to experiment.

but I must say most of the times I end up going back to the tried and tested stuff (normally with my tail between my legs)

I REALLY wish I could say the same about the KF casting braid.

I have lost a good 30m of the KF due to windknots, which it's not supposed to get because it's "hard".

But haven't given up .... yet.
