Yep agree.....
What was even more interesting is that both were taken on Jerk Bait - no the normal winter pattern.
Caught about 6 is succesive casts in fast flowing waters.
Fish were highly aggro

Conventional winter patterns seem to be on the back foot. Heard of  Firetiger crancks and pink flukes working down in the George area, also lost a biggie on a jerk in the Vaal River last Sunday.
Fish feeling the ressesion, or global warming?::happyd:

I am not that surprised about the jerk bait, if they were in the fast water they were obviously feeding and any fish feeding in the fast water will have to move quick to catch anything. Jerk bait is also a re-action bait!

In situations like this you will find your bigger fish in the structure just out of the fast water. Was the water not to cold for active yellows?

Have to agree, that is where we use to find them. In the deeper slower water. I have seen large mouth yellow of 11.5kg coming out of there! My PB yellow is 8.7kg and my brother caught a 9.3kg. Long long ago!

Congrats! Nice fishies! I guess this sort of success only comes from years of trial and error. The harder you try, the better the fishies!

Well done on great cathes there bro,it made me sick to my toes!

I must aggree the season is turned upside down this year, last weekend and the one before we caught bass on poppers and spinnerbaits,it seems like they are allready checking out nesting sites,we found alot of bass in shallow clear water in pairs!

Well now you know what i'm going to be up to this weekend.........Ryan i would guess,it was that purple and silwer yozuri?????
