I was wondering would a chicken blood dip improve results ?

I was wondering i buy a dip its chicken blood its disgusting has a really strong off smell i often use it at rivers and dams and it helps alot i get hooked onto great sized barbel,was wondering would it work for pier and rock fishing sprayed over my sardine,chokka,or prawn bait or will it just attract sharks?:shark
