I recently bought a Penn International 8o together with a fenwick 80lb rod for a steal ($30) over here form a local that abused it terribly.
Now the rod is in good shape and only the roller guides needed loosening.
The poor reel though needs a good spit and pollish by somebody that knows what they are doing even after I cleaned her as best I could. She really is too pretty to let go so I need to have her serviced and fixed lovingly. Apart from the normal servicing she will need a new grip, serious desalting (inside and out probably), some screws are stripped which will hamper getting to her insides and will need to be replaced, some of the bushings and washers will probably need replacing also. The drag seems ok but Im not too clued up on this size reel and it might need some attention.
Now Ill be travelling to SA between the 8th and twenty third of october and need someone to look at her while Im there in Gauteng area. Any ideas on whom to contact or who will be willing to look at her for me?
