Rob Allen spears (and I'm sure a few others) fit in these handles just need to grind the gap that fits into your trigger mechanism a bit longer, measure it against your current spear and then you can do away with the rubbish slide effort at the same time. I have an old gun like this at home that I put a new barrel on and spear and shoot fish with it regularly.
Use a sanding type disc on the grinder that way you don't !@# up your new spear immediately and you can do a better job slowly
O yeah to get your handle out of the current barrel (if you plan to replace or if the current one is bent) get 2 bottles of white vinegar and fill some empty margarine bucket or something and leave the handle covered in vinegar for a day or so op to above where the barrel is mounted. Otherwise you won't get that barrel off or the screws out. You can wash it aferwards and spray some silicone spray in there

rusted tank, i stripped and rebuilt the entire gun using marine grease where necessary, its in pretty good nic for an old gun.
the spear head is rusted vas to the shaft but the spear is still straight.
the only thing that needs replacing or rather adjustment is the muzzle, the person who had the gun before but it on squiff, the sights don't line up so my accuarcy maybe compramised
as for a replacement spear i have access to a milling machine and lathe, so i can machine the spear to fit the trigger.
