I have up for sale a 17ft Baronet hull, I have Never seen or touched the boat and baught it for the motors to put on a AceCraft (refurbishing project). and standing at a friends home currently. Sounds like deck has to be redone.

Hull is in Pretoria and on a double axel trailer with 4 new bearings and tyres.

If there are serious buyers in the Southern Western Cape I will considder towing down when the AceCraft goes up in Dec.

This will be a nice estuary light ocean bargain for someone.

I live in Somerset West , and have physically not seen the boat  . Myself and a friend is busy rebuilding a AceCraft 16ft boat for use in Mozambique – The Baronet was attached to 2x55hp Yamaha motors and the previous owner did not want to sell the hull and motors separately, so after some haggling we made a workable deal. Not often you find these motors with 300hrs only done freshwater duty.

 

When we got the boat the tyres were bad and have been replaced in August.  It sounds like the deck has soft spots and will probably need to be re-done but not sure.

inside upholstery is still original and 15+ years old so verdict will be functional but probably some issues here and there.

 

The Hull is said to be in  good shape(No patched holes) and with the added stainless, and screens I see it being a nice allround boat for rivers /skiing /estuaries/calm sea applications . 

The transom will have holes for twin motors so if you pick up a set of 2x40’s somewhere that should be more than enough - many going around as people upgrade to 4strokes.

 

I think if you see it as a bit of a project boat and if you are a bit of a DIY person it could be a bargain,  If you expect it to be new and spotless I think you will be disappointed.
