I have tried searching for this but can not seem to find anyting. I need some help in the retrieve of drop shots especially the minow type dropshots. What is the best retrieve to use?

I going to Milibangalala in December and hoping to catch some Kingfish.

from what i"ve read for a fast predator like the kingfish a fairly fast retrieve while twitching the rod tip is needed and for slo fish like cob a paddle tail bounced slowly off the bottom could work.

Thanks, did a search again and found some information. What I can gather is that there are no rules. It is about where you are going to fish and what you are targeting. One has to know how the fish that you target is hunting and where you will find them.

I read way to many post where guys just have no luck and think drop shot fishing is a waist of time. I myself must still get a fish on drop shot. It is not about just casting and retrieving, its about knowing what fish is where and how you must retrieve to get them to bite.

I will not stop trying. Im going to Mili in December, and I am going to cast my arm off but I will catch them.

If you can get yourself the blackfin "Dropshot - Getting Started" DVD, I've got it and its brilliant, shows you just about everything you need to know to get a fish on dropshot..
