Howzit gents, last week i changed the anti reverse bearing on my daiwa seagate 6000 but after using it once afterwards it feels as if the bearing is not doing its job as the handle turns backwards about a 1/4 of a turn before stopping any advice or ideas on what the problem could be

Agree with Fredster. Did you put any grease on the bearing? Best is to soak it in some Benzine and then give it a light rub with a synthetic oil.

Correct as the Anti Reverse is not engaging at all. It's stopping after travelling backward when the mechanical anti reverse pawl is engaging.

Check that the sleeve between the ARB and the Pinion is inserted correctly and MAKE SURE their is ZERO grease on the rollers or they cannot engage.

Thanks for the reply guys, I know for a fact that there is no grease on the rollers as it is a brand new anti reverse bearing I will go and double check all the other little things you guys mentioned

I know with my Shimano Stradic there is a bushing that fits into the anti reverse bearing. I don't know if bushing in the correct term but anyways... And I've put this in upside down I don't know how many times. Just double check you've reassembled everything as it should be, very easy to miss something out.

That is this part I was referring to in my post "Check that the sleeve between the ARB and the Pinion is inserted correctly"
